Off Idle Engine RPM Problem Related, to Exhaust Gas recirculation, in TPI engines With an "off
idle engine RPM problem" in a fuel injected engine, a
tendency to stumble when at idle, or stall at stop lights, is
evident. One poster, threatened to sell his converted Jag,
because of its propensity to die at stop lights. After
fighting with the problem for the last 15 months it seems an a
solution has been found. The computer was
trying to adjust air flow but couldn't maintain smooth idle.
After plugging the vacuum line to the EGR the problem diminished
markedly. Both valves were replaced and the cat is finally
stable. It looks like the gremlin has finally been
vanquished. Edited from a posting to Jag-Lovers.org mail list |
